About Me

I was a professional opera singer for most of my life. It was a wonderful, albeit demanding lifestyle. However, I had to work through many bouts of illness, injuries, and even a life-threatening run-in with blood clots in my lungs.

Then, in 2009, I ruptured the quadriceps tendons in both legs, and after the major reconstruction surgery, was confined to a bed and a wheelchair for my recovery. My parents moved in with us for 7 weeks to help take care of me so my wife could continue working. As I laid in that rented hospital bed in our living room, not able to do much for myself, I made a decision to do whatever it took to not have to be ‘taken care of’ when I got older.

I had already been involved with nutrition for the last 20 years, but I knew I needed to know more. So, I dug in and got my certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and 6 different personal training certifications, including Senior Fitness, Fitness Nutrition, and Corrective Exercise.

It took time and consistent effort, but as I started applying the modalities and information that I learned to myself, I definitely could feel the changes taking place - less joint pain, more ease of movement, and some new muscle definition.

Since that accident, I have fully recovered. I’ve completed 2 half-marathons, and many 5K and 10K events. Now in my 70s, I own a thriving business, enjoy hiking, kayaking and Pickleball, and I can keep up with my granddaughters!

And now, I’m excited and honored to bring that knowledge that I’ve learned through study and personal experience to help others overcome their health struggles.

Leading the way for excellent senior health since 2009.
